Machined pistons from forged aluminium
At first glance you can see that these pistons are considerably shorter than ordinary production pistons. This brings several advantages, above all a smaller friction surface between the piston and the cylinder. As a result there is less wear, lower internal losses and the engine as a whole moves with less resistance.
Machined connecting rods from alloy steel
This is one of the highest-quality methods of making connecting rods. Unlike ordinary forgings, the material is rolled before machining, which aligns the grain of the material in one direction. This significantly increases the strength and lifespan of the whole con rod.
Another advantage is the machined joint of the con rod cap. If, for example, the big-end eye were damaged by a seized bearing, the con rod can be repaired and reused. With so-called fracture-split con rods, which are commonly used in production engines, this is not possible.
Special high-strength bolts that can be tightened and loosened repeatedly without losing their properties are a matter of course. To give you an idea – a single bolt costs around CZK 1,500.
Made to measure
The biggest advantage of custom-made pistons and con rods is absolute freedom in design. With ordinary production or catalogue parts you are usually limited to just a few size options, for example pistons for a 0.25 mm or 0.50 mm overbore.
With made-to-measure production, however, we can design and manufacture the piston and con rod exactly to the requirements of a specific engine. We are not limited by standard dimensions and can carry out modifications that would not be possible with commonly available parts. This is a huge advantage, for example, when building engines with increased displacement or in projects focused on high performance.
